Kilt Measuring Guide

The measuring guide is very important for you. By following this measuring guide you can able to know what is your exact waist and length. Remember: The waist size of a kilt and trousers or pants is always different.

Following are the important steps that you must follow for the measurement of kilts.

  1. Waist Size Measurement
  2. Hip Size Measurement
  3. Kilt Length Measurement

1-  Waist Size Measurement

This is the first step which is measuring the waist size, put size tape, whether in inches or centimeters, around your body at the point of your waist or belly button or where you are planning to fasten the kilt. Normally a kilt is fastened at the belly button, but it’s totally up to you where you want to fasten it. You must stand erect and have a normal breath as it is necessary for accurate measurement.

Normally the kilt is  2 to 4 inches more waist size than pants size.

2- Hip Size Measurement

It is the second important step. In this step, you have to move the measuring tape on your hip. We need the size of the widest part of the hip. It is a very important measure when your hip size is larger than normal.

3- Measure the Length Size

In this part, you have to measure the length of the kilt, and it is up to you. You have to send us the detail of your length in a private message after measuring it. Well, the measuring tape should be measured at the start of your fastening point to the down where you want the bottom of the kilt. Normally the default Drop length is 24″ for males and 20″ for females. As it is, a custom-made kilt, so the choice is yours.

Jacket Measuring Guide

  • Chest

In chest measurement, you can measure your chest at the widest point. You must have stood tall and “at ease. Stand erect and breathe normally while measuring. Now you have to measure loosely around the chest at underarm height while wearing a t-shirt.

  • Waist

Wear a shirt and measure loosely around your waist at your navel.

  • Shoulder to shoulder

In this step, you must wear a well fitting jacket and after that keep your arms at your side. Stay erect and measure from one shoulder to other end of the shoulder.

  • Sleeve Length

Wear a well-fitting suit jacket for the sleeve length measurement. Now measure from the shoulder seam to the cuff. Normally, jacket sleeves end 1.5inche  to 2inche above the base knuckle of the thumb, breaking at the wrist or slightly lower. Roughly 1/4″ to 1/2″ part of the shirt sleeve should show below the cuff of the jacket.

  • Back length

You can take help from your partner to measure your body from the back side. The measurement will be from the end of your collar to your waist point.
